"Voice of RFTH" In India Facing
Persecution for His Beliefs

Despite threats, your gifts help spread the gospel in India

Narendra Singh

JAIPUR, INDIA - Narendra Singh, the voice of RFTH in India, is an amazing man of God, and it is our honor to be associated with him in our effort to spread the name of Jesus throughout the world. Unfortunately, there is a movement among some of the leaders, as well as the police, in India to keep Christians quiet about their faith, especially pastors like Narendra. Please add Narendra, his wife, Pinky, and their two sons to your daily prayer list. Below is an excerpt from one of his letters to us.

"Thank you for standing with us and praying for us during this time of persecution and suffering. God has used this and other incidents to glorify His name. All electronic media and print media are talking about Jesus and His suffering people. Even the people who did not want to utter the name of Jesus are talking and discussing about Jesus on TV programs. What we could not have done in fifteen years, God did it in five minutes through 20+ TV channels free of cost. Two more pastors, their families, and their houses have been attacked in Jaipur. We have been working with them and the government officials also. I have been informed by a reliable source that my cell phone is also being tapped, so I need to be careful.

"...we were carrying a heavy burden and our soul within us was crying." - Narendra Singh

"The Hindu fundamentalist groups are carrying out their plans to attack Christians in a very strategic, but similar way, and I believe they will continue to carry out their agenda to attack us and we have to be ready for it. Meanwhile, as a good citizen of this country, we are also trying to notify to the government and police officials in a Christian way so that we maintain our witness and hold the name of Jesus high before every official."

"Above all, we know that the Lord is our refuge. In Him we have true security and all the needed help available. We are constantly fasting and having prayer meetings in different groups, in different places almost every day—seeking His face, His guidance, and His strength and grace. I am personally thankful to you for assuring us of your prayer and support."

How Can You Use Your God-Given
Skills To Serve The Lord?

Volunteers are critical, and we thank God for the team of servants who get involved.

Larry Kapp

You should be thankful for men like Larry Kapp. He spent thirty years of his life serving the public as a Federal Law Enforcement Special Agent and ten years serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Now in retirement, Larry is still serving. As an RFTH volunteer, Larry converts our audio cassettes to CDs. Larry told us, "When I was looking for a place to volunteer, I was hoping to find an opportunity where my computer experience might be best put to use in serving the Lord. The way I see it, everything I have is from Him and volunteering for RFTH is a way that some of my talents can be utilized!"

God has given each of us a unique blend of talents, skills, and experiences, and resources. Are you using yours?

If you are interested in volunteering at RFTH too, email us at info@rfth.org.

The Latest Online Hangout is
Our Newest Ministry Frontier

RFTH's "1 Minute" daily devotions are reaching
a brand new online audience on Facebook.

Facebook logo

More than a 100,000 a day are joining the social web site Facebook, and their fastest growing age group is 25 and up. So don't think they're just kids and teenagers. Facebook's appeal spans generations as people visit the site to hang out with those they know, learn about people they've met, and express their personalities in their customized personal profile page. Not only can users upload their photos and videos, they can also customize or enhance their profile page with a variety of useful and sometimes quirky applications.

We've created the very first daily devotion Facebook application called "Right From The Heart 1-Minute Devotion." If you add the application to your Facebook profile, then each day's devotion will appear on your profile for all your friends to see. So far, our devotion application has been added to about 350 Facebook profiles.

Memphis Listener Gives Sacrificially

You, too, can help keep RFTH on the air

Norma Russell is a lovely lady who lives in Memphis, TN. She and her husband Larry have listened to WCRV-AM for years. In fact, they've said they even listen to the station in their sleep! They began hearing Bryant's 60-second spots during our initial one month test run in Memphis this past February.

When Norma realized she wasn't hearing Bryant anymore, she called the station to ask why and was told that we were trying to negotiate a longer term contract, but that, frankly, it takes money to run those spots on the radio! She promptly came down to the station and dropped off a check to Sunny Caldwell, the station's General Manager, and said, "Send this right away, so they can get back on the air!" Then, after she heard about the flooding of our offices, she drove back to the station and brought another check to send to us.

"Send this right away, so they can get back on the air!" - Norma Russell

We did negotiate an annual contract with WCRV (which covers 9 states), and when Norma heard Bryant's voice again, she called the station to say how blessed they were to be listening to his wonderful messages again. Norma is not alone in her sentiments. Many of the station's listeners have called expressing how much they enjoy the insightful radio spots.

What we haven't told you is that Norma Russell has Muscular Dystrophy. Each step with her walker is extremely painful. For her to make two separate trips to the station, walk in, and physically deliver her check was akin to the story in the Bible of the widow's mite.

What an inspiration!

Comments on Daily Devotions
Spark Debate

Both supporters and skeptics are sounding
off about our daily devotions. Are you?

This summer we began allowing readers to comment on our daily devotions. The resulting conversations have been interesting. We've had readers tell us how a particular devotion encouraged them, but we've also had readers initiate interesting debates on topics such as the trustworthiness of Scripture, the effectiveness of prayer, or the importance of church attendance. This forum-like atmosphere has led to some interesting conversations.

More than ever, it's critical that we engage in dialogue and defend our beliefs. Years ago, the beliefs we held dear were not criticized like they are today, but times have changed.

If you are looking for an opportunity to winsomely defend your faith and express the love of Christ to others, then we encourage you to join in the discussion. Whether you read the daily devotion in a book, in your email inbox, on Facebook, or in your RSS feed reader, you can click on over to our website and leave your comments.

The Fragrance of Christ

Paul's vivid imagery describes the effect that Christians should have in the world.

In 2 Corinthians 2:15, Paul writes, "For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing."

According to Paul, God permeates our lives with the fragrance of the knowledge of Christ. Everywhere we go, our lives should be a reflection of the relationship we have with God. The most compelling evidence that Christ is alive and triumphant is evident in the lives of His people. It is a privilege to be the fragrance of Christ by which others learn of God's life changing power. We hope you will prayerfully consider supporting RFTH and partnering with us in making a difference for Christ around the world.
